Nashville Kick-Off Meet Recap

We kicked off the 2022 Grown-Up Swimming season in Music City on Friday, and boy oh boy it was hotter than some of that famous Nashville hot chicken. You want to know WhatLiftsMe? Not some angel wings painted on the side of a building, but the fun competition that Nashville brought to Grown-Up swimming. For example, we had a woman in her mid-60s hit the water for her first ever competitive sporting event. We also saw the Cottonwood Grown-Up Pirates set an unofficial world record in the 4x25 t-shirt relay (still waiting for FINA and USA Swimming to confirm).

But no growing swim league is without its controversies. Rumor has it that a group of 8 year old volunteer timers are making moves to unionize, arguing that their complaints that “our feet are tired” have fallen on deaf ears. Nashville League Director Skyler was unable to be reached for comment, but we will update you all as the situation progresses. All that ugliness aside, lets get to the results

Individual Results

There is no “i” in team, but there are 2 in swimming, so I guess that makes individual results twice as important? Anyways, you can find individual results here

  2. Cottonwood Grown-Up Pirates — 527

  3. Ensworth Aquatics — 289
