July 14th Grown-Up Swimming Practices

Hi Grown-Ups, 

 

It’s gotten quite hot in Atlanta, so I’ve been logging serious hours at the pool. My warmup usually starts with walking a few steps to get my "feel" for the water and then closely by a quick 30 minute lounge break.

This extra pool time that I've been putting in might translate to some time drops this season.

  1. Practice One: Aerobic Swimming Ascending Effort

    • Good couple of 50s building your effort up to 80%

    • I give you some rest after that and then you'll hit a fast one. Should be feeling pretty good for that (the HR zone you get into on the 50s before sets you up to go FAST).

      2. Practice Two: Best Average Stroke Set

  • What is best average? 

    1. Best average is a set where you attempt to go as fast as you can for all the repititions. For example: What is the fastest time that you can hold for all four 50s?
